Ever been stuck in a lift?
‘A first time visitor comes to your church and as they walk around your site, they decide to take the lift up to the next level to have a look around. They get stuck in the lift.’
Think about the risks in this scenario. What would this person say about their experience at your church? What would be the reputational risk? What would they tell their friends?
Moore Theological College’s Centre for Ministry Development (CMD) would like to invite you to a Workshop on ‘Stories of Risk’ to help increase your awareness of risk in your church and to navigate a range of risk scenarios.
Our keynote presenter is John Cossart, former Chief Risk Officer at Citibank Australia and current Warden at Naremburn Cammeray. Experts from the Sydney Anglican Diocese will also share stories and workshop responses to give you informed, wise and good processes to navigate property, psychosocial and legal risks your church might face.
We would like to offer you this workshop at no charge, followed by lunch.
Parish councillors, wardens or ministry staff at your parish may also find the workshop helpful, as we will be providing a framework for thinking about and managing the different types of risk churches encounter.
Please just register by 24th November to let us know you will be joining us.
Date: Monday 1 December 2025
Time: 9am-1pm followed by lunch
Location: Marcus Loane Hall Moore College 1 King St, Newtown 2042
